You could probably just replace the Samsara J/B tip with your favorite playing tip, and you would be set with a J/B shaft w/the modified G-10 ferrule/tip and a playing shaft with your favorite tip, all for less than $600...seems like a great deal to me.

Not sure what you are asking, but if you put a playing tip on one of the shafts it would play beatifully.

PM replied. No, it is an Elforyn joint collar. It looks similar to ivory, but not as brittle.
