I called this case "classic" because it is an 11-year old case purchased at the Hopkins Expo directly from John (Collins) Barton when he was based in Germany. It is made a little differently from the current models, and I think perhaps a little better. The leather on this case seems to be of a higher quality than on the new ones -- thicker, nicer color, nicer to the touch.

A nice feature of this case for people who carry separate pool glasses is that the top pocket is 8 inches in length, whereas the top pocket on current models is about 6 inches. So a bulky eyeglasses case fits nicely in the top pocket of this case, whereas it won't in the current models. The bottom pocket on this case is 12 inches, whereas the bottom pocket on current models is about 15 inches, so most jump cue butts will not fit.

The condition of the case is excellent. It has spent most of the past 11 years at home as a storage case. All zippers, snaps, and latches are in working order.

Weight -- just under 4 lbs and 15 ounces.

The case is shorter than current ones -- the internal height limit is about 30 1/2 inches. Be sure to check the cues you would put in this case to make sure they fit.

Current models list for $399 and sell widely for 20% less than that, or $319. My price is xxxxx.

...............Price reduced to $175 plus shipping................

Sold.

The leather on this case is PRIME oil tan. Really high quality. You might also mention that the case does have one shorter tube which was done this way to hold Bunjee style tapered jump handles.

This case is in immaculate condition for it's age. It's too bad that people don't put a higher value on older cases in pristine condition. This case is one of the best we have ever done.

$175 is flat out stealing for this case. You will not find finer protection in tube case than this.

Wow, John, thanks for the post!

Whatever you said eleven years ago convinced me to buy it (for a lot more than $175). What you said tonight convinces me to keep it!

Sale canceled!

Change of heart again. The case is back up for sale.

Please read what John Barton said about this case in Post #5. Thanks.

great case

I bought one of the "classic" Buffalo 3x7 cases about seven years ago. I used it regularly for a few years and it is still in like new condition. I take very good care of my equipment, but the case's appearance and durability are testaments, in my opinion, to the quality of the build of the, I guess you could say, older Instroke cases. A few years back, I bought one of the nicely-tooled 2x4 Stroke Sports cases. Again, despite using it regularly for the past three and a half years, it still looks almost new, inside and out.

My point in saying this, is I have owned far more expensive cases, but the older Instrokes, such as yours, and the Stroke Sports case I have now, I think, are the best for the dollar out there, both design and durability-wise. If I didn't own those two already, I would nab your case in a heartbeat.

That case should sell fast. Best of luck for your sale.

Ryan
