Fs Custom Made 6pt Cocobolo Cue With New (sugartree) Eric Crisp Shaft

I would also like to know what you think of that joint construction? With the white (phenolic?) split between the butt and shaft.....
Was contemplating having that joint vs. a traditional 1" on the butt put on my custom....

(don't want to hijack the thread. Just a quick question and thassit.)

And bump for a beautiful cue! Good luck on the sale! :D

I like the way this joint is constructed. Not only because of the type of pin, but because there is wood/wood, collar/collar contact between butt and shaft. I'm not sure how the length (or height) of the collar affects the play though... aesthetically I think the shorter ones, like the one on this Kohn, are cooler--so, I guess I kinda prefer the 'split' type.

This cue looks really good!

And a very quick observation:

4 pointers beg for full, 1 inch joints (white or ss) with full phenolic collars

5 pointers...a little shorter, perhaps 3/4 inch

and all 6 pointers should have joint collars no longer than 3/4" TOTAL, so any phenolic collar beneath/above the main joint needs to fit within this parameter.

Just my personal rubric for specing out joint lengths when I order a cue. Short joints on 4 pointers look strange to me, and a full joint on 6 pointers look strange too...
