Thanks for asking. Yes, the "KQ" is etched into the wood under the finish about 1/4" up from the butt-cap and is most visible in the 4th picture centered between the glare caused by the overhead light.

Nope, the ferrules are whatever thermoset plastic fibre Dave was using back when he got started. Looks linen based and cleans up nicely if that helps at all.
