I have an older Instoke and my cues fit in either way!
 
Turns out the ones I had seen were knockoffs, not the real deal. I'm not too proud to admit the mistake. :)

I just got a 3x5 with a deal, and it's definitely older, and indeed the butt's fit in both directions.
