Mel Turner was a custom cue maker in WA, now retired. Cue made in 2010. Very unique wrapless ebony butt & opposing points into spalted maple, with a phantom ghost in the swirls. Malachite & brass rings. Length 59.75”, weight 19.4 oz, balance @ 18.5”. Cue rolls perfect together and apart. 3/8x10 modified G10 pin. Woodwork & styling is reminiscent of handmade Filipino cues. Has some light scuff marks on buttcap and joint collar, but no chips or dings in finish (see pics). Both shafts are perfect, one is a bit blued the other is basically in unused brand new condition. I realize some may consider this blasphemy, but to me the cue feels like a Scruggs, with a slim butt profile and super solid hit. Unique custom players cue for a very reasonable price. $550 OBO, including insurance & shipping. Paypal and other e-pays accepted. Thx for looking, PM with any questions.

phreaticus, Howdy;

What exactly is a 3/8x10 modified G10 pin when you say that? How is it modified?
Can it be used with Standard 3/8X10 pins?

What is a ghost cue?

I have a ghost cue, the points are of the same wood, color and figure as the forearm. Very subtle.

Is this a spliced cue? Just a nit needing to know. :ROFLMAO:

Hola. Bob Dzuricky’s page on the 3/8-10 modified is the best explanation I know of, since I think he invented it. Yes, butt can be used with standard 3/8-10 shafts perfectly. Thats one of the cool things about it. The G10 refers to the material of the pin itself; its a hard composite resin, as far as I know. Fits any shaft materials super clean and has a feel of its own. Usually ends up with a lighter front end cue, but this one has a slimmer butt so ends up being quite neutral, with balance point in the 18.5 zone.

Hope that helps.

Cheers ✌️

This Ghost cue has a ghost in the spalted wood swirls. The construction appears to be segmented a-joint, and I guess one would call the up/down points in the wrapless handle to be unique form of half splice. Not exactly sure how to classify this style of splice...
