Here is a very nice bacote sneaky from Jack Kompan of Mystick cues. This one is 60" in length (30/30), and has great balance, with a nice, stiff hit. The cue is dead straight, together and apart.

Specifications:

-Butt: 14.8 ounces
-Shaft: 3.9 ounces, 12.5mm, LBM, Everest tip
-3/8x10 flatfaced wood to wood joint
-Black phenolic joint sleeve
-Nice bacote rings at A/B/E, sanwitched in brass beauty rings
-Nice curly maple forearm
-Darker brown, highly grained bacote points and body
-Black phenolic butt cap
-Trademark "Jack Kompan" and serial number stamped into butt

I have cues on display at All Star Billiards in Frederick, but they are only the production cues. I do not keep custom cues in stock there, as they are really not what the league players want. I will bring custom cues in to show someone if they want a custom.

They are not dead nuts, but not bad at all. They are all within 1/4" of each other.

I took it to the tournament today and hit with it for a while. Very firm hitter, especially considering it is a 60" cue...not whippy at all.

That explains a lot. I have had several Southwest cues, and always liked the firm hit with easy ball movement. This cue is not quite as stiff as my SW, but it does have similar characteristics. Balance is excellent, also. For $225, it is a hell of a custom cue value.
