i know this screams ignorance, but what is a taper roll?
thanks

It is the subject of much discussion. I use the term when there is a variation of light the thickness of a credit card or less right about at the center or rear of the stroke zone, where the taper starts to fatten up. Many times, it is just the movement of the wood due to the climate conditions (it will move back), other times, it may be caused by irregular sanding of the shaft, etc. Many times, a shaft may have a minor "taper variance", but it still sights dead straight. The tip and joint stay on the table, and there is no "hop" in the roll of the shaft.

In the case of this shaft, the variance is much less than the thickness of a credit card, but I like to mention any possible issue as different people feel different about things. My shaft that I have been playing with for 5 years has much more "taper roll" than this one, and I would not get rid of it for anything.

There is no issue with this shaft that would affect its playability at all....but I did give it a low price because of it.
