Man, this stinks...:(

A terrific opportunity to someone to snag a steal of a price on some GCIII or other pool-related items.

Happy holidays, Joe! I hope all is well!

You are dead-on with that assessment. Another pool room bites the dust. I just hope the rest of them can hang on through this tough economic down-turn.

On the flip side, anyone needing a great deal on some pool stuff can get it for a song and a dance.

hate to see

i hate to see so many poolhalls close i have been playing this game for most of my life and it gives me so much enjoyment that i cant understand how this great sport could be at such a low :sorry::(

I know...it is really terrible. Peggy had been at this pool room for 23 years. It is a danged shame....it was all like one big family. Only the "sports bars" remain.

midwest buyer

If anyone is buying and bringing back items to the to the midwest, I would be interested in a couple of spectators chairs. Pm for more info.

Robert,

I hope you find someone to help you get one of these great deals.

Chairs

I'm in Minnesota and wouldn't be able to pick them up. If anyone was going to get a group pickup type thing going I'd be interested in 2 chairs.

I helped a friend move 6 of these singles and a double to his home in my truck. These have some miles on them...patina, if you will, but they looked great with his 1890s Brunswick table. They are very heavy...built out of oak, I believe, and are commercial quality. They would last the average user a lifetime...and probably then some.

Not enough new players my friend. Locally we have probaly 3 serious new students of the game in the past 5 years. We are in love with a sport that is slowly slipping into the history books.

You can't make kids play pool. I have 2 tables here at home and my oldest wont look at them. The 5 year old will roll a few balls now and then, he may take it up. He already has a nice 2 piece McDermott cue his size. I''m afraid he'll destroy it, still too hyper just yet.

I bought my GC I at a pool hall that closed about 8 years ago, Just $800 with balls and everything. Crazy.

Very, very accurate statement....Xbox and Playstation have just about done pool in. The next generation of pool players will be playing virtual pool on their playstations.

The pool tables aren't for sale until january and your prices listed are not accurate. at least not for the gold crowns.

peggy said they are gc II's not gc III's, and they want $1500 for them, not $1,000.

You didn't talk to her right....she said $1000 for the 9 footers...make her an offer on them...as for GC II or III, I am not certain. I thought Larry said GCIIIs. They have to be out of the building by 30 Dec, unless something changed in the last day or so.

didnt talk to her right? i asked what she would be willing to sell them for and she said $1,500, and they weren't for sale until january.

I will see her at the party tomorrow night and get things cleared up, but she originally game me the price that I quoted, and I believe she would stick by that price.

When she told me that, we were loading up 6 singles and a double, so she was in a selling mood. She said that tons of people were asking prices, but very few were coming through with any money.

Take $1000 cash to her...I think you will leave with ownership of a table.

not trying to be cheap but i was looking at the or best offer part. i have a guy in annapolis who is offering to sell me a gcII for $750 that came out of wild willy's (the old jillians), so i was interested based on getting a gcIII for a fairly similar price.

its no big deal, i just thought others should know the price i was quoted by peggy.
