FS``Predator LE11 By Mezz```

Not quite

That's a Blak 1, isn't it?

TheThaiger,
I know it looks like one but this Limited Edition cue is actually where the blak1 & blak2 series cue were based off of in todays offerings. However the LE-X & LE-XI were designed and made by Mezz.

Thank you for your post.

Bump it up!

Thanks,
Mo

ah, thanks. GL with your sale.

Nope...I can see how and why people would confuse the LE11 for a BLAK1
They both have 'Figure 8' style micarta inlays...each point is composed of 4 inlaid pieces, each butt sleeve 'Figure 8' is composed of two identical inlays rotated 180 apart from each other...and the base of each of the points is similar to one part the 'Figure 8' inlays from the butt sleeve...

The LE11 was designed by Allan McCarthy but built by Mezz, production limited to 175, hence the LE designation (the SE designation is where the cuemaker designs AND builds it)
The BLAK1 was built overseas in the same Predator factories with an unpublished production limit...

Here is a side by side comparison of the BLAK1 vs the LE11

Thanks for that geo - you certainly know your Preds! They look very similar - do they play similar as well?

The only reason I know so much about this is because I also own an LE11, and people also initially confuses it for a BLAK1.

Cant comment about how similar they might play, but I can comment about the possible difference in construction, which may affect the way it plays:

The BLAK series were constructed using the C4 technology (four piece radially laminated core), and has the Luxe Leather wrap. C4 technology eliminates the use for an A joint pin (a pin used to connect the wrap handle and forearm). If you remove the bumper from a C4 cue, you will see phenolic core in the butt sleeve, used to eliminate buzzing and prevent warping. The BLAK1 butt cap is made of steel, while the LE11 is phenolic.

The LE11 is constructed by Mezz using their own construction technique (in other words, I dont know which construction technique they used). It might (or might not) have an A joint for weight and balance purposes, it may be cored (likely since its an ebony forearm, to control weight and balance). The LE11 wrap is a real leather wrap, not a faux leather that the C4 cues have. One thing that is similar between the two is that both have uniloc pins installed into phenolic with stainless steel joint sleeve. Maybe the OP can post pics of the insides of the LE11 butt sleeve without the bumper, I couldnt get my bumper out to compare. Mezz made these back in 2005, and C4 was first used on the Predator 5K series, which came out around fall 2006, after they moved cue production from Falcon in Canada to their current location overseas in China.

Bump for an awesome looking cue.

Geo thanks for all the information and BUMP!!

Still available and listening to all cash & trade offers.

Thanks,
Mo

Thanks. I have a friend that plays with a Blak1 and another that plays with a Blak 4. The Blak 1 is pretty damn good but the Blak 4 is simply amazing - I'm not sure why there's a difference in how they play, but there is. Would love to try this one - Mezz make fantastic cues, so the buyer cannot go wrong.

Sorry OP - at least you're getting bumped!

This is hands down the best looking cue that predator has ever made!!!! it's top 10 for mezz easy too

I would have to agree with you poolplayer2093, although I do have a couple of other SE cues that I'd put up there as well. I love the SE19 made by Samsara as well, it's totally gorgeous.

Thanks,
Mo
