First let me state this is not my item or sale.

I am just watching this item because it is of some interest to me as I have never seen a Richard Black Balabushka Tribute with lots of Ivory in place of the MOP like on this one. This cue is signed by Richard Black and dated OCTOBER 10, 2005.

Items description:
Custom Richard Black Bushka built last fall in like new condition. (Cue was signed October 10, 2005.) Ebony butt full spliced into a very nicely figured bird's-eye maple forearm. Ebony butt sleeve with four elephant ivory notched diamonds, each surrounded by four elephant ivory dots in a classic Balabushka pattern. Four razor sharp ebony points, each with four hand spliced veneers: maple, mahogany, steel blue and ebony. Each point is inlaid with a small elephant ivory notched diamond with an ivory dot above and two ivory dots below. Again, a classic Balabushka design. Wrap is genuine Irish linen, olive green with dark green specks. Stainless steel joint collar with a 5/16 X 14 stainless pin and brass shaft inserts set in maple. (Medium stiff hit.) Comes with two pro tapered shafts, each with ivory ferrules and Richard's own medium hard leather tips (13mm) backed by black fiber pads. Everything is straight, both together and apart. One shaft has seen very light play, the other is new and unchalked. Cue is 58 inches long, weighs 18.5 ounces and is in like new condition. Plays like a dream, but if you're reading this far, you probably already know that. It takes about 3-4 months to order a Richard Black cue. Here's a chance to get a classic Black without the wait. Bidding starts at $1,295. Offers considered. Thanks for looking.

On Feb-14-06 at 08:12:22 PST, seller added the following information:

Although it's not included in the auction, I will give the winning bidder the option to buy a Whitten 1X2 black leather cue case with Richard's logo on the top at cost ($200) with no extra charge for shipping. Tom.

The seller is Mike G. of Quality Cues.
If you did a search you will find a couple of threads about him and some very strong recommendations.
Mike sold me 2 cues that are still in my possession and the Tascarella would be very hard for me to give up.
He is a good guy to deal with in the event you may be interested in making an offer.

Ihave A Buddy With An Ivory Inlayed Bushka Variation, That Is Even More Loaded Than This One. He May Be Looking To Sell It. I'll Give Him A Link To This Thread.

I can see from another thread in this section the time from order to completion on one of these is still 30 days. :)

I have talked to another cue builder, about building a cue something like this for me. I asked about MOP or Ivory and he told me the material cost would be the same. The big cost would be in the labor of making any cue. If you’re already to place an order the cost of cue would cost about the same (as long and the design didn’t change just the materials). I must admit though, I would guess Richard has made more of the MOP ones over the all ivory; so this would be something special.
I think, I saw one within the last few months on ebay or on AZB; that also had a ivory in place of stainless steel at the joint?

I would jump on all over this, if I didn't already have another project close to completion from another custom shop. :o

I had a cuemaker tell me the same about ivory and MOP. He said the material is not really that much diff in cost for inlays?

Here's 2 new Blacks that I'm looking to sell myself, Bushka style with extra ringwork on the bottom.

Design is exactly the same except the top cue is made with ivory inlays and the bottom cue is MOP.
