For sale is an old Blue Grass Cue made by Richard and Donna Harris. This cue is one of Richard's earlier attempts at making sneaky petes using a Dufferin Cue.

Specs:

Length: 58"
Weight: 21.0 oz (4.0 oz for the shaft and 17.0 oz for the butt)
Materials: Butt is rosewood (I think) with a maple forearm
Joint: 3/8"-11 tpi flat faced, brown phenolic
Shaft: 13.05mm maple shaft with 3/8"-11 tpi flat faced joint (brown phenolic), micarta ferrule with triangle tip and black pad.
Condition:

Butt- Butt is in 98% new condition. The finish is like new with only a couple minor bumps in the finish. You can only tell by rubbing you fingers across them. Very Very minor! Cue has less than 1 mm roll to it if you hold down the butt of the cue. Richard said he tapered the butt from the points to the joint so it will appear to have a bad "roll" to it but that is due to the compound taper. He said for it's age, it's very "straight".
Shaft- Shaft is in 98% new condition. It would be 100% except for the fact that it has been played with. No dents, dings, scratched and rolls as straight as when Richard made it.

This cue is for sale only. No trades please.

$450 shipped takes it.

LOL!

I guessing that you have never played with a Bluegrass cue before. If you had, you would not be asking that question!:D

Gutshot-

Your signature says many Bluegrass cues- How many? Are you a Bluegrass Collector?

At the moment, I own 8 Bluegrass cues.
I am more of a friend of Richard's and like to collect his cues than a collector of many cuemakers.

Got a question?

I love his work, but I have to know. If he took an old Dufferin, and cut to make the SP, where does the extra value come into play at? I see the lil horsey in the butt, then what? Are his shafts valued at $400 EA?
Not sarcasm, just curious.
Thanks,

The value would come into making the joint, replacing the dufferin logo and making the shaft. Shaft alone is $175.
Also things to consider.
1. Richard did not make many dufferin conversions and will not make another one.
2. Richard might not make another regular sneaky petes.
3. Richard has a 5 yr wait on cues.
4. He is one of the hottest cuemakers of today.
5. His sneaky petes play just as well as his high end cues...just ask anyone who plays with one.

Taking all that into consideration....you have a $400+ sneaky pete.

Thank you.

Bluegrass cues are my favorite of ANY cue. I think it's his ring work that I like the most.

Here are more detailed pics from the cue in my avatar...yes it is a Blue Grass Cue.

It's in the finish room now. I went over to Richard's this weekend and he said it will be finished in a couple weeks!

It might be too nice to play with!
