It's a great cue, but the handle doesn't look very purple. I wonder if everyone knows that purpleheart is brown when cut, and assumes its characteristic color over time if it is not finished with a UV blocker?
Er... is this cue finished with a UV blocker?
A few woodworkers tell me that hanging purpleheart under fluorescent light for a few days brings out the color very nicely.

I just finished a purpleheart cue...I set it in the window so it could change to purple and it took a few days aswell...the Shannon cue looks like it was finished as soon as it was sanded and maybe the pic taken soon thereafter...

I didn't "cut into your deal making". There was no dealing going on, except maybe on your side of the fence. You were all over the board about whether you wanted it, or just to critique it (ferrule, wood combination, etc.). I didn't see where Jazz accepted any offer that you made, and a deal is a "meeting of the minds", not a unilateral proposition.
You did this same thing with me once upon a time. You asked people to send you pictures of sneaky Petes that were for sale. I did and you basically critiqued the cue in detail then didn't want it, then did want it, etc., and we basically just wasted time. Jazz and I have done a couple of nice deals in the past, and this was a nice offering. I made a straight forward offer and he accepted. Done deal...
Life is full of decisions. If you constantly waiver, people won't take you seriously when you finally do make one...

Just received the cue and I'm very pleased! The pictures didn't do the purpleheart justice. It is actually much more vibrant in person. As usual, the deal with Jazz went smoother than glass...the cue was packaged like it contained nitroglycerin, and I got it two days after the transaction! I'm always a happy man when I receive a cue that exceeds my expectations, and this one sure did... Thanks Jazz!
