Hello all; up for your consideration is the cue that so many serious players from out west had to have because of its beautiful hit, balance and feedback. TAD maple merry widows just like this one became the go-to cue for many and with good reason. This classic has the desirable Westinghouse micarta ferrule and Tad's signature ringwork. It doesn't get any better than this! :thumbup:

The cue belongs to a very good friend of mine who is not computer savvy so he asked if I would post it here for him. I have hit with this cue and can attest to the fact that it really does hit brilliantly. These TAD MW's with micarta ferrules are very special.

I haven't seen him in a couple of months due to covid and he doesn't have a scale or calipers but we both are fairly certain that the cue weighs 19.1 oz and the shaft is 12.9mm. There is a 2nd shaft not pictured that is 13mm with close but not exact ringwork - we don't believe it's a TAD however it is also 5/16 18.

This cue also features the old school Cortland linen that feels great. At the back of the wrap where it meets the wood there is a very slight lip - not a big deal but I disclose all.

Overall, this is a *v-e-r-y* nice used TAD. Not sure yet how old it is. The owner (my buddy) doesn't have an allen wrench on hand to remove the bumper so that we can check the date code - my guess would be early 80's to mid 90's if you need to know for sure we'll get that done for you. The finish is excellent, btw.

I’ve come across more than 50 BEM Merry Widow Tads, this one has this nice honey-colored accents, and love the WH Micarta on this one.

Very tempting offer, Brian! :)

Did he find a hex wrench in the last 3 weeks? Very interested if it is authenticated as a Tad

Hi Patrick;

According to Greg (Sealegs50) it was a phillips screw not an allen head and he and my buddy did remove the bumper yesterday revealing the numbers 2487.

I posted a thread in the main forum asking about this and the consensus is that it's from the 2004/2005 date range.

Hope this helps; let me know if I can assist further.

And thanks again Greg for ending the cue date mystery. :thumbup:

This is a real nice TAD, let's get her sold...
