Excellent condition considering it's age...I'd guesstimate 85%.
Butt plate is perfect, but wood area shows light patina. However, prong sections above the wrap could be closer to 90% condition. Wrap is original and in perfect condition.

First lets start with I always thought Earl was a smart person and you just proved it for me.
Earl was a trip and I wish there were more like him out there.
I did make this cue and made very few using the construction method used here.
The point colors were glued up by my wife (Debbie) this is how I can tell it's my cue.
I would guess this cue was made around 1980 maybe 1979. My daughter was born in 78 and this cue was made a year or two later.
It is 100 % a Joss Cue made by me.
The ferrules are ivory and I think the wrap is Cortland line.
I suggest you never have this cue wrapped or refinished. The value would drop big time if you did either of these things.
The shaft inserts are lined with an old material called Babbitt. It's what was used in the real old days as a bearing material for car crankshafts.
