Ft Wayne IN - Gold Crown or Diamond

I am working in Ft. Wayne IN for the next 2 weeks or so and would like to play on a GC or Diamond table nightly. Does any rooms have big tables that play well. Do not want to get completely out of stroke as I have an upcoming honor match with WBM and need to be ready.

I know where there are plenty of Valley bar boxes but that does quite tune up my stroke like a big table.

Let me know if there is a table, in the area of either Auborn (work) or Ft. Wayne (hotel).

you may wanna try the billiard cafe 532 nobel rd. phone # 471-1538 or corner pocket pub 3215 st. joe center rd. phone# 492-7665

Elvicash...Corner Pocket only has 7' Valley barboxes. There is a 9 ft table in Break n Run, which is about a mile south of I-69, off of exit 109. Can't remember the street, but I think it is Goth, or Goeth...something like that.
Look in the phone book and it will be listed. They open at 4pm. That's the only 9' foot table I know of in Ft. Wayne...it's a barbox town. MastersMaster (email: MastersMaster@aol.com), aka Ralph Smith, posts here, and lives in Ft. Wayne. Maybe you can PM or email him.

Billiard Cafe or River City. Both great places. Billiard Cafe has great atmosphere and the pizza is great! River City (can't begin to tell you how to get there though)... has a Diamond with Simonis and Penguin rails.

Good Luck and have fun!

Billiard Cafe is on Noble (just off Coldwater at Colisieum)
Break and Run is off Goshen (1555 Goshen)
River City is sort of downtown, but again... ask locally for directions, it is a bit hard to find.
Corner Pocket is also real nice, but no real big tables - Valley coin-op.

I will be checking out River City when I am up there, di not know it was still around. I have been to the other places and they are mostly all bar boxes.

If anybody on here wants to play some straight pool I will be in the Ft Wayne area this Wed - Fri and Mon-Fri next week let me know.

I might also match up for some cheap 8 or 9 ball on the bartable but I prefer the straight pool on the big table.

The road Break n Run is on is Goshen Road. Last time I heard they were suppose to get some diamond tables.

About River City closing----

I will check when I get up there and will let you know.

I called earlier and got an answering machine

Corner Pocket-negative on the big table unless you like a bar box on steroids of which they have 2

Billiards cafe- no big tables

Break and Run- 2 big tables-play ok

River City- is reopened, haven't started advertising yet, 2 newly recusioned Diamond 9-footer with fresh Simonis is the nuts, played on it last Friday night, plays awesome

Pool is in a sad state in Ft. Wayne. It really is a bar box town and unfortunately, no one wants to put much effort into maintaining their equiptment. It sure would be nice to play with clean pool balls sometime!

There is a place that I have taken my girlfriend to the last 2 visits to Ft. Wayne.Very nice atmoshere with nice equiptment, albeit barboxes. It's called "The Side Pocket" and is on Maplecrest.Good luck:)
P.S.---They have a great menu as well.

I hope they cleaned River City up.I was there about a decade ago and have had NO desire to go back.It was one of the dirtiest rooms I had ever been too.IIRC,in a pretty bad area too.
