I just got my own set, and it is improving my game dramatically.

This IPAT-Start Workbook is the first step in the International Playing Ability Test (IPAT) series, and is intended for beginners through advanced beginners in the sport of billiards. The Workbook contains exercises and approaches starting with the most basic and fundamental shots, testing the user on ten different aspects to the game… and you can record your personal progress with self-tests.
When you’re ready to move on, the next steps in the IPAT series are three DVDs with companion Workbooks, Levels 1-3, which are intended for advanced beginners through professionals.
The IPAT System was developed by coaches Ralph G. Eckert, Jorgen Sandman, and Andreas Huber.
Through this system of DVDs and workbooks, which are popular in Europe, pool players in the U.S. and Canada can now train like a pro — and compare their skills against others worldwide via a Web-based scoreboard. A U.S./Canada instructor-based system for certification of PAT-trained players is also now being developed. WPA’s endorsement of IPAT means that national and international comparisons of anyone’s skills are now possible, since everyone is taking the same tests.
