Would a wrapless, full-splice cue, with a high figure birds-eye bottom that had been cored and filled with a straight maple dowel, be prone to warping? Yes, no, or maybe.

Yes

Every cue is prone to warp if the woods are not stable, shafts fallow the same rules.

A core can help but doesn't prevent.

Definitely, i made passes on several cues this evening, 2 of which were birdseye...they had moved "alot" and none of the others had. Think its much safer to use on fronts, which sucks because i got a ton of 1.5x30's

It may move on the first pass or 2. That's providing you climate control is where it should be. When I take my first pass I don't expect my wood too be straight. On the second pass I the wood moved alot I will mark it with an x on the face. If it moves a third time I will set it aside or I won't use the wood.

If you have a batch that is prone to move a bit , dip it in Resolute or Nelsonite after your first pass ... Should help , also hang your wood as gravity will have an effect ... This gentleman probably has a piece of wood that was rushed into service ...
