Fun thread.. Where are you from and what do you call it?

Williston, ND

I grew up calling all soft drinks "pop", but for whatever reason now refer to them as "soda"

Virginia Beach/Norfolk, VA.

A sweet, carbonated beverage is a soda(though we usually just say the correct name of the specific beverage).

I pronounce Pechauer "Peach-hour".

Always ask the waitor/waitress, "what kinda cokes you have?"

I pronounce as: Pee Chower (like hour)

I pronounce as: Mew Chee (like Mountain Dew)

Bossier City, Louisiana, USA :)

OK here we go this round we have only 2 items... What do you call a beverage like Coka-Cola and how do you pronounce Pechauer Cues?? Have to tell us where you are from....

Knoxville TN Here..

Everything is a coke.. Hey you want a coke? We have coke, pepsi, orange or grape nehi and Mtn Dew.. Take your pick...

Pechauer... Maybe it's just me but I always snicker and think ain't noooo way I am going to be caught shooting with my pecker in public... Hell I might offend the girls in the bar that still have all their teeth or run em right the hell off.....

Guess we could have added moochi but we can save that for the next installment....

 Chris

A Coke is a Coke and a Pepsi is a Pepsi . Although the places I frequent I just point at my nose... They know it means Coke and I get a giggle out of the bartender. As far as cues go, very few know anymore than Predator or Lucasi and jacoby

Bahstahn MA here... Oh, I'm sorry, I mean Boston, MA.

Soda, although I've traveled and asked for a soda and received a glass of club soda.

And I call the cue a Peh-showAH because we never pronounce our R's. :)

No coke, pepsi ... cheeseburger cheeseburger cheeseburger pepsi pepsi pepsi.

Soda (although I often say pop or nector of the gods cause I march to the beat of my own drummer)
Pechauer=Pet-chower
Lucasi= luke-ozzy
Meucci=mew-t-she (mew as in pew, like in a church kinda pew, not the drop ass kind of pew)
We also have bubblers, not water fountains
Illinios with silent "s"
Anyone know what psds is? hint=thats what someone in Long Island or east coast area there may have done to an ear.

Most call it pop but for some reason I've always called it soda.

I have no idea how it's supposed to be pronounced but I've alwasy called it Pesh hour.

Just to put it all out there, I say Lou Kossey, Mew Chi, and I don't even know if I could come up with an alternate pronunciation for Joss.

Joss=yoss (thats how they would say it in Holland I think anyway, thats how Jos Verstappen pronounced it and he was in fact from Holland)

I guess it's possible that it could take after Jose and be pronounced "Hoss". It would also be awesome to convince somebody who was really proud of their exotic Joss (the type at the pool hall who will tell you it's a $3000 cue made in Minnesota Fats' basement, etc.) that the correct pronunciation is either Yoss or Hoss.

I've lived here all my life and honestly I'm not real sure what they say. My friends and I, we sorta have our own vocabulary, I'm sure most of you are familiar with terms we use, they're pretty common. It's all sort of a cross between hipster and East-West Coast.
I know reasonably few people that play with a Pesh-hour, I drink Diet Soda or beer with fruit, if the bar doesn't serve food we might call a local 'jernt' and order up a large pie. Some people have cues that are made by Lou-Kaw-see or Shone. If you make me really mad I might get right up in your grill and let you know what the score is, and although we've accused guys of playing with their pecker, it has nothing to do with a pool cue. If you've left your 'ax' at home, then you might have to play with a walabushka unless someone will loan you their baby, but don't ask to stroke their pecker, you'll probably get a weird look and maybe a throat punch. If you play a particularly bad shot or hook your self the your cue ball landed right on the beach. New male players that we don't know are always Joker, All girls not on our team or unknown to us are Jennifer, our bar is home, and if the ladies league is playing there that night it's a target rich environment

Toronto

where any non alcoholic carbonated beverages fall under the category "Pop".
No idea how to pronounce Pechauer but whenever I see it, in my head it sounds like pech-hour

Post

It's either pop or soda here and I've heard the cue called many of things.. I've known it as peak- hour.

Grassy median of a divided street is the "neutral ground."
Some of us "do groceries," but some of us "make groceries."
Mayonnaise is "my-nez" (it is a French word, after all). This is dying out.
Some of us say hurriKANE; some say hurriKIN

Remember: don't eat the dead ones. :D

St. Catharines Ontario for me.
Coke is coke, everything else is pop!
I'd guess Pesh hour for the cue name. Never heard of it.
Shout out to Toronto and Hamilton and a little further to Regina!
