Fungus Among Us: Update

A few weeks ago, I posted asking about a fungus on one of our cues.

I believe that it is White Fungus, This fungus appear for humidity over 16% and darkness,

In your wood piece this fungus is superficial so wood will not be damaged, you should clean it only and apply a fungicide.

It looks like our cuemaking friend from across the pond was dead on.

It had rained an abnormal amount for a month. We also keep our cues standing vertically in cardboard tubes. So basically, they are always in the dark.

I pulled the cue out of it's tube and the fungus cleared up very rapidly on it's own. The rain passed and it didn't return.

If your cue ever grows a little white beard, now you know :)

For your viewing pleasuer, the fuzzy cue in it's final state. I really love the look of this narra. The dots are MOP with .015" silver border around them. It's tough to tell.
