Funny Comment from a teammate on my cue.

Howdy All;

Bought 2 cues off of Ebay. Pleasantly surprised by both. 1) A mid 90's sneaky with a wrap
with a small RED Dot as a maker's mark (L. Bludworth), came with 2 shafts everything straight
and intact. Felt a touch light but it worked well for me. That was in mid 00's. 2) A few years
ago I jumped on a JossWest (sideways W), steel joint and again basic sneaky with a wrap.
The balance was different but weight felt familiar. Had both cues verified by their makers in
2016. Turns out they are both 18.6 oz. So, apparently they made lighter cues back in the 70's.
I also acquired a McDermott C-6 that weighs near to 21 oz. truly thinking about selling that one
way to heavy for me.

Why would that be so??
Speaking for myself, I’ve never had cue power. I can’t get 20mph on the radar gun. I can get a lighter cue to move faster.

I think it’s fast twitch and slow twitch muscle fiber issues. In the gym for my size I was very very weak. All show and no go 😕

This is just a guess, but it’s also been my experience. I noticed it when I was a C player in the 80’s

Yeah, its not ultimate muscle strength that will get the ball moving fast but your fast twitch muscles and wrist action can probably help too. I don't see cue ball speed leading to more cue ball action though, more stuff flying around the table though absolutely. My playing cue is 20oz with my extension and my break cue is 18oz, I see low 20's on radar with either cue, neither seems to improve cue ball speed.
