fly fishing just seems way too much effort, i like droppin a line and waiting

I used to think that too. Then I got an inexpensive fly rod combo. I'm on a trout creek with at least 20 fish rising to eat bugs off the top of the water in front of me and they wouldn't touch any of my hardware. The next day I was out with the fly rod and my first gorgeous Brook trout I caught slammed a dry fly on top of the water. It was all over, I was hooked. I'm not a fly fishing snob, I fish all different ways for whatever will bite. There's an art to casting a spin rod on a river too.

Got a bite, I knew I could catch at least one... hook line and sinker, or should I say line tippet and fly

But in all seriousness, I have been fishing much longer than I have been shooting pool and I understand the aspects of elevating your angler status by fly fishing. It's absolutely a tougher way to fish. But it's low hanging fruit to pick on a fly fisherman. They seem to put themselves on a pedestal more often than not. It's all in good fun though.

Lol, I dont see fly fishing as an elevation of my angler status whatsoever. That's funny. Just a different way to fish. I am on no pedestal because I fly fish. Casting w a fly rod isn't nearly as tough as most think it is. But yeah, it's a little different than twirling a cat toy. Like I said, casting a spinning real and rod in a tight little creek is an art as well.

Now enough, this thread isn't for chatter.
