I can still vividly remember the smell of plastic that wafted out of the freshly opened Hot Wheels boxes when I opened them, the ones with the orange track sections in them.
To me, that smells like Christmas.

I didn't have a problem with the meme itself.
I wasn't the one who took a clearly fake meme and used it to straw man a whole generation of people, using the flimsy evidence that their cousins kid isn't too bright.

Sadly, I know a couple of people that have handwriting that good but really struggle when it comes to spelling.
A family member of mine is dyslexic and has a bit of trouble with spelling. Their handwriting definitely suffers because of it. They are highly intelligent and certainly have not let they're visual perception issue define who they are. I know there are a lot of people who have similar issues and a lot of them probably have better hand writing than I do. Every portion of every word was incorrect. Someone who has that much practice writing words would get some portion of the words correct.
It isn't the meme I take issue with.
There's something about this idea that the current generation is always somehow dumber and less prepared than the one before that just grates on me. I'm seeing it all over the place lately. I know it's been happening since the beginning of time, every generation says it about the next crop. It's a simple minded lie one tells themselves to make them feel better about their station in life.
For some reason it irked me a bit more this time, probably forgot my meds. Back to the funny.
