I was LOL at the travel trailer incident
I am assuming that the travel trailer incident was real and not a staged incident or photshop. If that was the case, ingnore the following:

You were LOLing at that??? I found it kind of sickening that someone could lose their life so quickly on a seemingly small mistake. Anyway, I found it very sad and not funny at all, but that is just me.

Again, if it was not real then it was funny, but I was assuming it was real... Just me, I guess.

I did find it funny.
No it is real
Noone lost any life
Man and boy escaped

Sometimes an incident CAN be funny with tragic RESULT. If there
is a loss of life then YES you are correct that the RESULT is not funny and I would pray for the families.

I have made BIG mistakes which this one was and after the initial shock and embarrassment then I knew it would be found funny.

Sorry if it offended you.

Here is some more information ..................

Truck/Travel Trailer Crashes Texas State Bank- July 2, 2008
At approximately 3 PM, Tuesday, July 2, a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, pulling a new travel trailer, hit the corner of the Texas State Bank Drive-In on Tenaha Street, causing the complete awning to come to the ground. Luckily, the driver of the Dodge, Mickey Miller, of Garrison and his 10 year old son were able to exit their vehicle uninjured.

According to Miller he was circling the bank to park on the other side when the corner of his travel trailer caught the corner of the bank awning. Next thing he heard was a rumble as the awning started falling against his driver's side door. Somehow he was able to unbuckle the seat beat and exit the other side of his truck as it was falling.

I did not have the rest of the story... as you did; therefore, I am not offended at all.

If I would have known that they escaped without injury I would have agreed it was, in fact, funny.

However, I didn't know when I first saw it that they escaped and thought it was sickening...

And yes, I agree, sometimes tragic results happen due to funny incidents, which is why the Darwin Awards are published each year.

I guess reading about them (Darwin Awards) is easier than seeing them...

Again, I didn't know the rest of the story, but thanks for sharing.

You generally have great posts so this one surprised me; however, now that I know the rest of the story, I understand why you were LOLing.

Sorry for calling you out on this.

Its all good !! :D

You know somedays just about anything cracks you up. Other days nothing will crack you up :frown:

I check this thread and another one on a different board and have found some day saving material.

I agree that its easier not to see the material like in the Darwin Awards. Some of those amaze me but you even those people are saying ... What the $#%^ was I thinking right after doing their stupid deed. :D

I really love the one I found "fail" one I found where people just drive around the crossgate. It made my day !! Several of these made my day.

Keep smiling :D

Funny

JDB, I'd be interested in what you think IS funny. If you'll really think about it, there is very little that is considered funny that doesn't make someone look stupid, or hurt someone. It's sad, but true. Usually, the stuff that is very scary or painful now is the same stuff we bust a gut over, later.

I can't believe you'd pick on this one, when there are so many others to pick on. One is one w-a-a-a-a-y back that has a guy being catapulted over a pool and into the neighbor's yard. It looked pretty wild, but if you looked close enough, the guy was unconscious or inebriated (sp?) or something, when he was catapulted, which is part of the reason it looked so funny. I wrote the guy who posted it, but I don't think he had realized the person was "out". He just found it online and posted it, because he thought it was funny.

There are a lot of things you could pick on, but please don't. There are many out there who have had health problems that are definitely made much better by the laughter created in this thread. I am one of them. If I don't think the thread is moving along fast enough, I just start over. There is so much laughter on all these pages for me.

So, please try to remember that even if it's not funny to you, it's probably funny to someone else. Some of the stuff I think is totally sick is absolutely hilarious to others. It doesn't mean I have to ruin their fun. And, remember... funny is often what hurts or distorts. Even Dick Van Dyke was into pain being funny. In fact, a travel trailer knocking down a bank awning would fit beautifully into some of the stuff he did.

I think what I was trying to say is that even though this wasn't funny, it was sort of a shock and awe thing and it was amazing it was caught on film. (Even more amazing that we got the story, too.) Shock and awe is often just as wild as laughter. It's not always what you laugh at, but it's really good stuff to watch.

If I see stuff I can't handle, I usually just try to scroll past it. I hope everyone else does that, too. If it's really bad, we can always send a pm to the person who posted it. This thread is too good to stop.

Now..... I was just commenting on how this thread seems to have slowed down an awful lot, guys. (hint hint)

LMAO you are kidding right???

LMAO... I can't believe that you asked me this question, but I will answer you anway.

People dying, being crushed by a garage or dying in general are things I don't find funny. If you actually find them funny you should see a psychiatrist.

People doing stupid stuff and getting slightly hurt (ie., not dying) can be funny depending on the severity of the injuries.

People doing stupid stuff and not getting hurt can be funny.

Does that clear it up for you what I (and most normal people) find funny?

Thanks for contributing.

This post was not available when I posted my initial reponse; I must have been typing at the same time.

I agree with you on this post. However, I still don't necessarily want to see people crushed to death even if it is shocking. I don't necessarily mind seeing it; however, I tend to think about the people who died, which makes me sad...

I'm with you. Death is not what I want to see, here. Seeing someone seriously injured is usually not funny, either. There are a lot of things that are bust-a-gut funny, though. I hope we get to see a lot more of it on here.
