Famous for packing out venues around the world, teen heart throb Justin Bieber failed to entice even one person into the debut Manawatu screening of his movie Never Say Never.
The 10.30am screening was played to an empty auditorium at Palmerston North's Downtown Cinemas - a far cry from the hype of screaming fans he attracts to sold-out concerts.
However, Downtown manager Kaye Hendricks said they were hoping for a much better turn out for today's afternoon screening of the film.
"I think fans are more likely to come to see the movie then and over the weekend also."
So far, pre-booked ticket sales have been low, but Mrs Hendricks did not find this surprising.
"Because the movie is aimed at kids, they usually just turn up at the time of the screening to buy tickets," she said.
The movie is available to audiences in 3D as well as 2D.

DEA officer stops at a ranch in Texas, and talks with an old rancher. He tells the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs." The rancher says, "Okay, but don't go in that field over there," as he points out the location.
The DEA officer verbally explodes saying, "Look Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me." Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he pulls out his badge and proudly displays it to the rancher. "See this badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish.... On any land. With every step the bull is gaining ground on the officer, and it seems likely that he'll get gored before he reaches safety. The officer is clearly terrified. The rancher throws down his tools, runs to the fence yells at the top of his lungs.....
"Your badge. Show him your BADGE !"
