Reminds me of Baton Rouge, 1970's. There were two plants growing in the median on one of the major streets, I think North Acadian. I noticed them when they were about a foot tall and just monitored their growth every morning on the way to work. The taller one was pushing three feet high when a picture was posted in the State Times. The plants were gone the next day! Embarrassed police who had passed by the plants dozens of times or somebody wanting a buzz? Never knew! Cultivation was a heavy crime then, could find yourself on the farm for a long time even with no other major offenses behind you.
