Here's one to get us back on the right track…

Here’s something I ask all the time and get different answers. What’s the correct way to tip when you have a meal with some really nice wine? Say you normally tip 20% for a decent meal, should I do the same when I order a good bottle of wine? Am I suppose to tip $100 for the server to open a bottle of Insignia? Or up to a grande if we order a stupid expensive bottle? I say no but then always tip the entire bill at least 20%. Usually because I’m drunk.

The common wage for servers is $2.19 an hour before tips. But it is a service industry so if you want to ne tipped properly you should give good service. But they have a job I couldn't do without going to jail for a long time. But the numbers quoted earlier 75 to 125 per cent is ridiculous. I'm a generous tipper, had lunch today at Ruth's Chris and tab came to a tad over $20 and I tipped $10. Lunch is slow for Ruth's Chris and she took good care of me.

Hourly wages for tipped employees are usually less than needed to survive - some places the "tipped minimum wage" is less than $3 per hour. So your tip is the difference between living and non-living income.

Why stop with tipped employees? Wouldn't you like to have the power to deny any employee a living income if you're not impressed with their "service"?

When someone goes to a job interview they are made aware of:
1. The tasks and responsibilities of that job.
2. The compensation the employer intends to pay for said job.

If the employer decides to hire the individual then the individual has the choice to accept or decline the job. Don’t like the compensation? Then don’t take the job. Your inherent liberal self keeps blathering about “a living wage”. Not all jobs are meant to provide a “living wage”.

At the end of the day if the job you take doesn’t provide a “living wage” then perhaps individuals should develop skill sets that are in demand that pay a living wage. To project that “every job” should provide a “living wage” is laughable and smacks of your liberal proletariat views. There are ditch diggers in life, there are CEO’s in life and many other stations in between those two. You want a living wage, develop skills that will get you a job making what you desire. Expecting a “living wage” for EVERY JOB is like the idiots that think participation trophies are a good idea.

An acceptably paying job isnt an entitlement.
