Here's one to get us back on the right track…
Sure... employers do that all the time. The minimum hourly wage for tipped employees are usually less. Nothing mandates that an employer can't pay more.
No shit! The thread police were kicking down my door after 3 posts discussing Muncie shifters.Mods, can we move the tipping discussion to another thread, please?
I'm there a new location for the funny pic/gif thread?
While I agree, why is the request only after you joined in?Mods, can we move the tipping discussion to another thread, please?
I'm with you. I shouldn't have. But then I did... and then almost did again but finally came to my senses! While I agree, why is the request only after you joined in?
And yet here you are everytime this happens talking about cars, just take it to another thread like everybody wants you too. JesusNo shit! The thread police were kicking down my door after 3 posts discussing Muncie shifters.
Can't begin to tell you how many times I've seen this with our Bullseye Pistol league.
Hourly wages for tipped employees are usually less than needed to survive - some places the "tipped minimum wage" is less than $3 per hour. So your tip is the difference between living and non-living income.
Why stop with tipped employees? Wouldn't you like to have the power to deny any employee a living income if you're not impressed with their "service"?

When someone goes to a job interview they are made aware of:
1. The tasks and responsibilities of that job.
2. The compensation the employer intends to pay for said job.
If the employer decides to hire the individual then the individual has the choice to accept or decline the job. Don’t like the compensation? Then don’t take the job. Your inherent liberal self keeps blathering about “a living wage”. Not all jobs are meant to provide a “living wage”.
At the end of the day if the job you take doesn’t provide a “living wage” then perhaps individuals should develop skill sets that are in demand that pay a living wage. To project that “every job” should provide a “living wage” is laughable and smacks of your liberal proletariat views. There are ditch diggers in life, there are CEO’s in life and many other stations in between those two. You want a living wage, develop skills that will get you a job making what you desire. Expecting a “living wage” for EVERY JOB is like the idiots that think participation trophies are a good idea.
