I don't think that's a double negative; more an additive compound negative.
There are 3 different doors into and out of the house last winter 2 of them had snow drifts over 8' in front of them , then in the yard or driveway were drifts over 5' deep .
Even in town the streets were emergency travel only if you had a snowmobile , my sled was buried under 6'+ of snow ha ha !
It took nearly 3 days to clear the driveway of snow and get it piled up in the front yard , weather like that will teach you about stocking up on things that are needed on a regular basis , thankfully we didn't loose power !
Nowhere to run to and nowhere Toronto.![]()

Yeah, understand all of that. My wife and I went on a cruise in January 2024. Daughter called and said 'you need to have someone plow your driveway before you come home'. I said, why bother, we are driving the jeep with high clearance and 4WD, I'll use the blower when I get home. Daughter says 'no, you don't understand, there are drifts 5-6 feet'. She was right, I had my friend with a Kubota come and clear the driveway 2 days before we got home. There are 3 different doors into and out of the house last winter 2 of them had snow drifts over 8' in front of them , then in the yard or driveway were drifts over 5' deep .

True story: one of my wife's ditzy friends, when her son was growing up, said "he's only five inches shorter than me! He's 4'11", I'm 5'2"." Then proceeds to count on her fingers "4-11, 4-12, 5 foot, 5-1, 5-2."Both of my sisters used to say that they were 5’12”.
How can you argue with that?True story: one of my wife's ditzy friends, when her son was growing up, said "he's only five inches shorter than me! He's 4'11", I'm 5'2"." Then proceeds to count on her fingers "4-11, 4-12, 5 foot, 5-1, 5-2."
Toronto is actually blessed for winter weather….Buffalo on the south side of Lake Ontario gets a lot more snow….sometimes TO is green and Buffalo has five feet on their major streets. I come from a snow belt area north of TO ….an uncle drove a grader for the county ( we hosers called them maintainers ) they had a special attachment to trim the snow banks before the got to the hydro wires.I understand that situation in Toronto I've been there and had wondered what it would be like if a bad winter storm were to hit while walking to the peel pub for breakfast with a buddy of mine .
What was interesting about the storm I described was they were running out of places to pile the snow here as well , every vacant lot and piece of city owned property had a huge snow hill so to speak , every little kid's dream come true when I was that age ha ha !
This little piggy doesn't want to go to the market ha ha !
