Sounds good but dont you have to look to see?

BTW a couple of guys were preparing to play some on the BB that juts out into the 9ft area last night-I overheard some of the conversation-
"you wanna play regular pool or that ball in hand stuff?'..."I dont play no slop, lets play straight eight"(LOL you can win by scratching)

APA Alternative Pool Association.

Hi Jer. I knew you would chime in. LOL

Awesomeness Potential Absent

Asinine Player Assessments

<serious>
Been playing APA for a number of years. Even with its flaws and the occasional disgruntled-postal-worker type that I've run into, I think it's a good forum for people who enjoy the game (without necessarily being devoted to it) to have a good time.

All Play Awful

Arrogant Preachy Alcoholics

APA is all I'm in also. While APA has some issues, the BCA and VNEA aren't perfect themselves. I have trouble with the play one game against each opponent. While it's nice to play everyone, it gets under my skin to have someone break-n-run and then not get a chance to fire back at them. At least with APA, I'm probably not going to have someone run five racks on me.

And the BCA and VNEA make it out to be some big payoff to teams, but you still have to pay your way out to Vegas. And then they rape you for $1.25 per game. I figure you have to place at least in the top 10 to break even for the week.

It's Not An 'equalizer'................

The biggest problem I have with the APA is the fact that in 8 ball you can't exceed a skill level 7. There are several players I can name that are card carrying members of the APA that could give most players a substantial spot in any game of their choice and rob them blind. I saw one Florida APA SL7 play the 9 ball ghost for $100.00 a rack and took 1K from a dude in less than 1 hour. The handicap system is severely flawed and is by no means an 'Equalizer'. A SL 5 in California is equivalent to a SL7 in Georgia (hypothetical example to make a point only). So when the Georgia APA sends their SL5 to compete in the singles in Vegas, he gets his a$$ handed to him by the surfer dude SL5.
Take this years singles for example. Bob McGrath, who took 5th place in Purple Tier is ranked #304 by AZ Billiards and won $50,310.00 in 2007. Is this an amateur APA SL6 or SL7 ?

Always Playing A$$clowns!

That's pretty good...it's hilarious actually.

OK, I'll throw mine in:

All Players Awful

Understand that this is in good humor, I had been in APA for more than 2 years until very recently, and include myself in the "Awful" category.
