fury speed lock joint??

i bought an nr-08 a couple months ago from someone who bought too many cues. i usually like to do a lot of research before buying things but he was in a large debt so i did him a favor.

now i've been interested in upgrading to a ob or predator shaft and see that the speed lock joint is pretty proprietary. one site had a table that said fury was compatible with a radial joint but according to fury's site the higher end shafts had the radial pin.

i do like the look of my butt but would love to try a new shaft.. am I SOL?

i'd prefer not to pay extra for a shaft to be custom made for my pin as i might want to change shafts as well if its possible to replace my butt pin.

The pin, if we are talking about the same one, is Radial similiar. Not the standard Uni-Loc radial.

We at Tiger can make shafts to fit that pin; however we must be told beforhand what cue it is for, and it is considered a "custom" pin (add'l fee). PM me if interested.
 
thank you for the offer, but i'd like to try more than one shaft out. there are no places that can re-do the joint on my butt?
 
A pin can be changed by a competent cue maker or cue repair person. The common method is to heat the pin so that glue will become pliable then to take out the old pin, drill out the hole, plug it and redrill and tap it for the new pin.
 
awesome, that is great news. does anyone know of places around the baltimore-laurel maryland area that would be able to do it?

also, i am considering just getting a cheap good hitting cue butt that doesn't have to look great just to try out new shafts, preferably with a radial pin, if any places do that. i am wary of making my old shaft completely unusable

Send a PM to KJcues on here. He will be able to help you out. He does a great job converting pins on cues. He can also convert your shaft so it will still work with the cue.

The fury you have does not have a radial pin on it, its a speed lock, or whatever they call it. The furys that have the radial pin are the RP series. So your shaft wont fit on a radial pin cue. So if youre gonna convert the butt, you might as well convert the shaft also. Unless you get another low end fury for it.
