I was recently given bout 3 foot section of G-10 , not sure how old it is but it was from a cuemaker that is retired , I did notice it looks lighter in color and more see thru , it is light green, I made a break ferrule with threaded ftennon, yesterday I noticed there was 2 cracks , maybe install is wrong? or is it old?

That is the first question that comes to my mind also.

G10 is far from brittle, but make any material thin enough and it will crack.
And my other question is "how sharp are your taps?"

I have seen plenty of threaded ferrules split when someone reams them out with crappy taps.

When I see G10 or Linen Phenolic fail it is because the top of the tenon does not bottom out flush to the inside of the tapped ferule causing hydraulic pressure.

u mean go all the way down to shoulder?

I would think that if there is no little hole to let out the pressure or no slot/groove to let the air/excess glue out, this will produce a hydraulic force, inturn cracking the ferrule.

Make some test pieces out of acrylic or some clear plastic, then view what happens with different ways of applying glue and how the air is trapped or gets out etc. Well worth the time for seeing for yourself 1st hand.

interesting,, yea I do see bubbles coming out when screwing on to tennon, so go slowly to let air escape...
