As I stated, wood sealers sometimes due not cure fully and become trapped under finish. And they WILL push through the finish at some point and create bubbles in the finish or make it peal. Not to mention wood sealers due not seal any phenolic, ivory, metal, or any other medium besides wood.
I am helping the original poster from making many mistakes and spending wasted time and money from sealing his woods improperly. Advise like yours will send him in the wrong direction and cost him both time and effort.
After sealing, you're supposed to wipe off the plastics and metals ( acetone or denatured alcohol or thinner ).
Then you let it sit to dry. I suggest making a heat/drying cabinet.
Heaven forbid you're in a humid area without AC or dehumidifier.
I don't use a filler . If the first coat of epoxy still left pits after sanding, I put another coat of epoxy.
Some use super glue to fill up the pits. Or 5-minute epoxy.
I don't want to argue with Black Boar cues . As they say in their website, the epoxy is IN the wood . Not on it.
I use a thin epoxy and I can tell after a few minute, it has penetrated.
Put on another coat. No biggie.
If my way is wrong, I'm all ears too.
I don't listen to dead cue makers and dead brand makers though.
