I was looking over the brackets for the women's U.S. Open, and saw that Ga-Young Kim is waiting for the winner of the one-loss side!! How exciting - especially if the final is Kim versus Herndon!! (Way to go, Melissa!) Hmmmm....Julie Kelly in Windsor, now perhaps Ga-Young Kim or Melissa Herndon in Albuquerque? Quite possibly another new face in the WPBA winner's circle for the second tournament in a row - could it be a coup? :p

With three of the four players in the TV round seeking their first WPBA title, it's a Sunday that I believe to be without precedent in the history of the WPBA Classic Tour.

her loss to karen corr in last year's us open was like watching a train wreck. nerves and inexperience. she's a great player, and i'd say she has a mission to accomplish this year.

Yes, sjm, now that I have read on the Forum here that Allison is out I must also add the possibility of Kelly Fisher as U.S. Open champ!!! (Wow, what if it's the *other* Fisher versus Kim in the Final?) :) Does anybody have any more recent info?

And the winner is (hopefully)

Well it aint the dude on the right!

Thanks for the update, Gremlin. I was definitely NOT discounting Karen, merely sticking to my theme (and sjm's post) of potential new faces in the WPBA winner's circle, and wondering ("recent info") if there was anything I had missed re the brackets. Much as I like and respect Karen, it would be nice to see some new players win a tour stop!!! :)

Nice pic Davey!

I'm a huge fan of Ga Young. She has the most amazing break, by far, amongst the women. And her kicks and banks? Forget it, she's also head and shoulder above the rest. Let's see if she can remain calm and consistent this year, and just play her awesome game.

I agree... she's pretty damm good. And what a stroke, better than many of the pro men.

Anyone know when this will be aired on TV?

She is pretty stunning in that pic.

Stunning all around. Very Feminine and girlish.

Very considerate of others too. She would never let me pay more than my exact dinner cost. One time i fast talked her (i thought) paying a little extra with the check.
Ten minutes later she comes up to me, insisting i take three bucks from her, as i had put in too much! Great girl!

So anyone know when this will be on TV?

Womens pool really needs a new face to be on top... I admire Karen and Allison's game but they are sure rigid because of their snooker backrounds. Kim plays more rails, with a fluid natural stroke and breaks like the guys.
Sure nice to watch...!

Howdy,
At the age of three she was introduced to three cushion Billiards in her dad`s pool room(as per my grape wine) and banks and kick shots are very natural for her.Cheers
