Have a friend who will be in Gainesville probably Friday and or Saturday night . Is JP Gators or Art of Billiards the place to go for some 10 , or 20 dollar sets. Thanks for the info or is there another place better.

There isn't too much action in Gainesville but Art's is a first rate room with Diamond Pro-Ams. Even though they are a little close together.
I've been there and I second this notion about it being a first rate room... It's beautiful.

The web site says there's a 9 ball tourney tomorrow, registration at 10 am. I didn't see any more info on it so I can't tell if they'll have open tables anytime Saturday.
BTW, anyone that may want to play this guy will enjoy his company. I play with him a good bit. He's a 50-something yr old B player that's been around the game a bit. He's never short on humor, good comraderie or buying you a beer!
If you have an interest in playing him some cheap sets while he's in FL (he lives in NC) you might consider posting here and/or pm'g Fat Albert.
