Gallego's box-cue.....??

Its on the Schon FB page. I have no clue how to post it here. Its just a pic of a fore-arm. Not whole cue. I'm going with it being a Schon. I can't make out much on the vid, pretty blurry. I sent Ramil a FB message. See if he reports anything.
I don't go on FB. I was hoping someone would contact him. Seems to me to be the best way to go, just ask him.

At what point in that vid can you make out a logo? I sure can't.
I have to get on my bike and roll ASAP. You understand.

I have 7 or 8 frame grabs so far. Looking for the best one.

Whe I first saw it I couldn't tell what it was, just that it was there. It could have been an artifact but I am seeing fuzzy evidence of it in other frames. I have had it up on a big high quality monitor.

So, I'll get back to it later. Hopefully not a wild goose chase or snipe hunt.

I saw something like a rather big logo on the butt cup but too blury to make.
doesn't look like a schon logo but maybe it is a custom inscription

Nothing? C'mon folks surely someone recognizes this cool wand.
"Possibly Schon cue....
Really nice table in this match-
AMF GRAND PRIX- Built much like GC,
heavier frame construction AND THICKER SLATES...
Notice wooden side skirts , the side skirts finish kind of square on the bottom- nearing the ends.
Those tables were actually set up in Tulsa, for a brief time-
Galaxy Moo's brother Nick,
put in a small arcade across from Q spot on 31st in the strip center-
I took my kids to play in the arcade-I shot pool there-
place never got much traffic- closed-
dont know where the tables went-probably to galaxy and re-sold

It could have a Predator shaft on it no matter who made the butt.
It didn't have a Predator shaft when I saw the cue, and that would have been about 2000, give or take one or two. Bear in mind, at that period of time, guys hadn't largely gone to Predator shafts just yet, but that was to change shortly.

A bit of memory, the very first well-known tournament player I saw with a Predator shaft was Mike Davis, probably a little after that, playing in a tournament in Rockville, Maryland. That was the first-generation Predator shaft, which had a longer ferrule that later generations, but I could tell it was just a bit shorter than the standard one inch, so it did look different. The rest of course, is history, as a lot of guys went with Predator soon.

Doc, when I pass away, you may want to section my brain to see what kind of cue memories can be extracted.

1st generation 314 shafts aleady had a short ferrule, I got my first one in 98. maybe Davis had an early prototype

The GP is easy to spot with its black trim. Nice tables. I like the old '60's version too.

Yes, blurry. But it's there.

Much bigger than a normal Schon logo. In fact, with this low resolution it would be unlikely to see the Schon logo.

It is something else. Personalization? Another brand? Can't tell yet.

My eyes are blurry from riding. When that calms down I will get back to this.

Maybe I will find a frame that has a more clear shot of it.

True. but in the video, the ferrule is too long to be a Predator shaft.
There are other pictures of him with a Predator cue, so maybe by the time of the picture in the article which was taken a couple years later he switched shafts.
Or changed shirts. Gotta wash that stuff sometime. 😂

It would fill Volumes my friend.

You've probably never seen a real first-generation Predator shaft. It was 7/8th of an inch, not much shorter than a standard 1-inch ferrule. Here are the first three generations, top, the first, called Isoplast, second, called Titan, and third, not sure of the material name. You had to have a sharp eye to catch that the first was only slightly shorter.

To keep it thread-relevant, none of these were on Ramil's cue at first.
