Galveston on Versus TV

Just got home, turned on the TV, picked the Galveston recording from my DVR on VERSUS and WTF: I got "Whacked out sports!"
Maybe I missed something somewhere. Maybe something was posted here and I missed it. Did VERSUS or someone else cancel or postpone the airing of the Galveston event?

You will not see that footage on any TV screen you dont have hooked up to the internet IMO. The Versus deal died when the final price was figured out. Least that is what a guy in the deal told me.

What was the name of the show you meant to record?
I am looking and see nothing under Galveston?

1st: JCIN - Thanks for the info. Very disappointing, But thanks anyway. It's really to bad this event didn't go off the way it was planned. As good as it was it would've been so much better without the pay out controversy. And with the planned TV coverage would've been a shot in the arm to the pool community.

2nd: Gunn_Slinger - I do a DVR search for billiards to get pool related programming.
Unfortunately, on my system, ATT U-verse, this program is no longer shown on the channel guide or in my scheduled recordings. Also a DVR search this morning did not bring it up either. To bad.

Seems a little odd, as having TV coverage (Even on an obscure cable channel like Versus) is usually part of the package sold to the event sponsors. It makes a huge difference as otherwise their product will be seen by just the few hundred people who physically turned up to watch the tournament. (Of course this is but idle speculation, as only the people who actually know the contracts would know what was promised and what wasn't, or if the contracts and rates were altered after the decision was made to cancel the TV coverage.)

It also seems to show a level of naiveté on the part of the organizers, as most people in the industry know that it costs a substantial amount of money to get televised match coverage, and you have to pay that to the TV channel and recoup the money from sponsors, not the other way around. The WPBA I am told pay from $25,000 to $50,000 per tournament to ESPN for the production costs.

It will also make it hard for them to drum up interest next year without being able to show viewership statistics from this year.
