Hey All, just thought I'd pass this along as at least a few of you guys/gals like a little action I'm sure. The Canadian 9-ball championships have been offered my major sportsbook, Stanjames.com. They have a new Candian website, which you get to by selecting the English-Canada tab on the language selector on the homepage. Also available is the World Championships, and they will offer all IPT events in the future. Just FYI for all those who like to sweat a little during a pool tourny! :)

Just made my final picks:

Salvas @ 12/1 Lots of experience, past winner.
Wiseman @ 14/1 He's due, has never won this before.
John Morra @ 40/1 Taking a flyer on the kid at these odds.

Last years finalists are 20/1 and 22/1 also.

Think I got a winner??

I'd place a small knot on Morra. That kid shoots lights out and with him going off a 40 to 1, you could pull in some serious bank!!!

I didn't look at the book, but Finstad is the snooker pick.

As for nine ball, I tend to like Vidas or Gollan.

BTW, are they doing a webcast of the tournament like they did the last few years?

Hjorleifson has been playing great and was a runner up 2 years ago, so yeah he'd make a nice pick also. Plus living in TO area now he'll have some hometown support.

gromulan--I will check to see if they have the live webcam up this year or not. It was a great feature, but the venue has changed this season so I'm not sure.

Isn't someone taking an awful chance making odds on Pool competition and taking bets? Not saying anything against the participants, but there is a precedence for this type of wager going wrong.......

Maybe Pool deserves a 2nd chance???

Also Gromulan there will be no Webcam at this years Canadians, which sucks cause its the first of the past 5 years I havn't gone. Also Finstad is looking like a good pick, through to the semi's.

Ha Ha ...

As for IPT events, what do you think the odds on Efren would be?

1:1.25 .... lol

Just curious what odds would you need to bet $1000.

I am not looking to bet you but rather looking for your opinion.

The first IPT event will be a tough one to call.

Without knowing the groupings its tough to say. There could be some groups with much easier wins than others.

Some I would take a look at would be

Orcullo -- might not have the bookmakers attention yet
Archer -- Should be a threat if he can quit picking lint
Marlon -- has shown he can play top level 8ball
Corey -- if focused he win it -- might have good odds as well
Ralf -- long event good tourney player probably prepared well

I would not know even where to begin to set odds.
