I have just read the entire thread regarding the gambling debt of R. Wiseman. I can understand the frustration felt by the originator and sympathize with him. What I cant condone is telling the whole world and yet again giving the game that I love another black eye. Don't you people understand that posting threads like this do nothing to help the sport you say you love. You are cutting your own throats and the sport that I love by doing so. Please, if you have any love for the game show it and post accordingly. It is the only way that our sport will be viewed in a positive light.

If the people doing the gambling took the necessary precautions to prevent themselves from getting bent over and taking it up the a.ss, the whole discussion would be moot, and if some poolplayers didn't have a tendency to do some shady business, it would also be moot.
It's partially due to the scumbag nature of some poolplayers, and also partially due to the naivety of some when it comes to gambling.
The sport will never be viewed in a positive light. There are just too many pieces of S. that inhabit the pool community.

In men's pro pool, players that habitually fail to show up for tournament matches are never disciplined, nor do they ever seem to arouse the wrath of their fellow professionals.
In men's pro pool, Corey Deuel can hit a tournament director and get away with it.
By neither policing themselves nor holding each other to high standards, the men continue to ensure the continuation of conduct detrimental to the image of the game. Don't blame the general public for noticing such conduct.
The poster in the Wiseman thread has surely hurt Wiseman's action and has made it less likely that Ronnie will be able to pull another stunt like this, and that's good for the game, it's reputation, and for the posters on AZB that gamble.
