Games for individual practice

I've been going through the rulebook on world standardized billiards. I noticed the few games that are "beat your high score games."

Equal Offense
Cowboy
Bowlliards
14.1


Anyone ever play or seen on of these in action?

I know there is a 14.1 section in the forum. But aside from that one.

I love bowliards.

Easy to score, easy to see improvement.

It helps your 14.1 game without the worry of finding a break ball at the end. I think it's a good introduction into the complexity of 14.1

I think bowliards would also be interesting in a ladder system for pool halls. The AA players and above would find it incredibly easy, but those who are just picking up the game can really benefit.

As for the others you mentioned, I have only dabbled in Equal Offense once or twice, but could be fun with the right group of people.

I like solo games for practice and would love to hear about more,

I made a quick bowling scorecard spreadsheet and use copies to play bowliards. I like that game.

I like to play 1-pocket against myself. I always win.

Yeah, all of 'em at one time or another. Six Pocket is another good one, also Fargo, which is kinda like Equal Offense.

I ask if anyone has seen them played because the first time I played straight pool was at a league. And when I broke my opponent was like that is not how you break, and then I got another lecture about how to play the game. It took about two seasons before I realized that an open rack works both ways.

If anyone knows things that would be considered typical knowledge for the savvy player please do share.
