Games improved, but still losing...?

I have the same problem... nerves get to all of us sometimes. Try slowing your breathing, it helps me a lot. Or think about something completely non pool related for a minute, then switch back to focus mode and maybe you'll skip over that nervous state of mind in between. This works for me most of the time.

I think Neil an Sixpack are right on the money with their posts..at least for where I am with my game.staying on the right side of center,an in the landing zone, weather I'm long or short has really helped.pattern play an safties probably have won me games where I should have lost..I like to run balls, but if the table doesn't look right,or there is more then two trouble areas, then I must think about table management...any time I play a safety it most have a purpose other then ball in hand..I know this isn't always the case depending on the lay out,an who I'm playing..for the most part I'm always looking at the table,an playing the table with what skills I have..not what I think I can do..

I've got a bad habit of always trying to out the table, the problem is I'm a solid 5-6 ball runner (game doesnt matter) and usually leave my opponent (A) an open table making his run easier, or (B) on the 7/8 with only three balls to run.

Playing for free/beers/or a few bucks I dont mind. But anything over $10 a game or tourny play and I shift game.

Its hard to play safe instead of going for the nuts, but if you want to win you have to learn to do it.

This is me as well. I am taking a lesson next week. Hopefully that will assist me in finishing my run outs. I lose WAY too many games where my opponent should not get another visit to the table..
