I bought this 2 years ago, waiting until my basement was finished to have it assembled and re-clothed. I have about $1700 total into it.

I like it. I just bought an os 8 ft Gandy pool table to donate to our sr center. It will be delivered and set up on the 31st of March. The table is a commercial model that came out of a home. The laminate on the rails looks great, will get new cushions and traditional green cloth. I am very eager to get a table in our town. I drive over 40 miles to play now. Seems like a lot of keyboard commandos on AZB talk bad about Gandys but I had a chance to play on a couple recently and cannot complain for the $ .

You're gonna luv it! I hope you are able to get a really good man to set it up for you. That will make all the difference.

Nice. There is a local pool hall full of the brown version of that table with drop pockets. Most of them play good however years of the same guys recovering them with not much other maintenance has taken their toll on 'em. Many pockets have janky pocket openings from the same dudes doing rail replacements. Solid tables however.

Thanks guys. I am loving the table. I feel once I get decent on this 10', small pocket table I can join a league around town on a regular table. The company that set it up did a great job.

Great looking table and room! That snooker table will be a benefit to your play, one helped my play a bunch a long time ago. One warning, do get out and play on the short track at least a few times a week. If you don't, that ten footer will influence your shot selection and pattern play.

The knocks against Gandy are two-fold. One, in commercial settings they were set up with pockets bigger than a #3 washtub, kept things moving fast if paying by the game and great for egos. Two, they don't stand up as well as some tables to drunks and abuse. Your table will suffer from neither of these problems and halfway looked after that table will last a lifetime or three!
