The garage at my new house yielded a few slabs of ebony found on a shelf. I asked the previous owners why they had them, they said they were there when they bought the place, 10+yrs ago. I'd never held an ebony plank before, it's amazing how heavy and dense this stuff is. It gives a new perspective of how difficult it must be for you guys to use this, while trying to maintain a players cue weight.

Anyways, no idea of how old this stuff is. It's been in a Chicago garage for at least ten years, it stacks perfectly flat on top of one another, and has no cracks or splitting. Question, if I were to bring it inside the house, temp and humidity controlled, would it or could it effect the ebony negatively after it being in the garage for so long? Also curious if this stuff would be worth saving to maybe have a cue made down the road...

Getting it near a heat or air vent or sunlight from a window would be suicide for the wood if bringing it inside. Putting it inside a closet should be no problem. With the wood being as old as it is, it should work for pool cues.

Thanks! Just paid the garbage guys 20 bucks to clean out the million moving boxes out the garage, lets see what else is in there!

The closet it shall go, thanks for the advice cueman, I'd hate to ruin this stuff. The pieces almost look like they were meant for a few forearms and butt pieces...did John Davis use to live here???? Hahahaha
