Gareth Potts vs SVB.. who wins?

I should have used the term "Euros" instead of Brits as I wouldn't want to leave Mika, Ralf, Thorsten, etc....off of the list of guys that Shane pounds on.

That's the best you got? Some bigoted statement about my nationality. Shows the level of intelligence us not getting any better on this forum

British actually - we'll be out of goodam Europe soon (God willing)

looks like he needs to come over here to try and make a decent living then where he can get pounded on by SVB just like all of the other brits.

Why? There are no events in the USA, which is why you are producing piss poor plyaers at the moment.

What he has done is sign a massive sponsorship deal in China and now based there.

I was just providing another option for him since apparently he can't make wages in England. He can be like the other Euros and come over here and make a little money, but ultimately bow to Shane when it comes to tourney finishes and gambling. He's pounded on all of them for the last few years like personal punching bags. Potts would be no different.

What would happen if Potts only played his game on his table on his terms in his country? Do you think he'd win a lot?

It's hardly surprising your boy won't venture out of the country, otherwise, how do you explain THIS? Absolutely shocking.

Poor boy must stay in his comfort zone, and let real men venture out into the world.

What's so wrong with being intelligent, staying in America and making a few hundred grand a year with winnings and sponsorships? I donno Do you know?

I lived in England for 4 years, it just happened to be at a time when I put the cue down, so now I think I was crazy for not taking up snooker at that time.

I get it that young players are coached at a young age, I just don't think there's such a huge difference between different cue sports. I see guys like Mike Davis being competitive at 14.1 after only playing a few times, so that's sort of what I'm referring to in the crossover of cue sports. When the Brits get on here and say that comparing our American billiard sports to snooker is like comparing completely different sports, I have to disagree. I used my example of being able to beat the locals because I'm a better poolplayer as an example that could be extrapolated to a higher level. I still say that if SVB or Mike Dechaine or Earl or Efren or whoever wanted to seriously take on the world of snooker, they'd be successful. It's not that different of a game. Your mind still calculates angles and velocities the same way even with smaller balls.

I'm not sure I could be any clearer in my last post. Did you not read it before you quoted it?

I think I agree with you, there is no reason why a good cueist given the right conditions and time .............

They would have to start at a very young age, however I think pool can be more forgiving in this respect.

Piss poor players at pool.

I wouldn't go as far as calling the standards piss poor, but you do have a dearth of world class talent in the US right now.

Well yes of course - the Europeans..

All joking aside, SVB aside, there are no world class US players at all.

I will agree with this statement.

Other than Shane and Daz (since he's living over here now) there are no other world class players, IMO.
