This is terrible news!! Please keep us informed!

Gary has always been one of the biggest supporters of pool here in Texas! Myself and my family will be praying for Gary and the Welling Family.

Yes, that IS terrible news!! His wife just had a stroke herself a couple of weeks or so after the Texas Open. I hadn't seen Gary at G-Cue on league nights since then. Prayers go out to the Welling family.

Gary has been a cornerstone for pool in Texas for as long as I can remember.

Get well, my friend, we need you!

Our thoughts and prayers are with he and his family. What a super guy I really hope he gets better soon. I had the chance to chat a bit with him this year at the Texas Open (over a VERY STIFF CUP OF COFFEE) and I enjoyed it immensely. You could tell he really loves the game AND the players. I hope he gets well very soon!

Shane and I just saw Gary at the pool hall last week. I hope he is better soon!

I talked with his son Kevin last night and the tests result should give a much better picture today. I surely hope all goes as well as possible.

Get well soon Mr. Welling!!! I wish you a speedy recovery.

GW in Rehab

Thanks for the well wishes for GW. The good news is that he's been moved to a Rehabilitation hospital right down the street from G Cue, so it appears he is out of danger. Now comes the tough part - rehab.

He has made tremendous progress this past week and now is able to wiggle his toes and swing his leg. This has improved his spirits greatly as before he couldn't move his right side at all.

He's appreciative of all the support he's received and thanks everybody for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes and hopes to be back to sweating pool in the future.

Thanks KW, this is good news. He is a tough old Bird.

I wish him all the best in the world and again, if there is anything I can do, please, just yell.

Stroke

I was watching a documentary about a man that had a stroke and lost the use of his arm. He was about to have it amputated because it was "in the way" to him. Someone told him about some new therapy were you train other parts of the brain to take over other tasks!!!

After a couple of years, he had re-gained full use of his arm!! Crazy!!

Believing is SO powerful. The human mind is so much more powerful than most are willing to believe.

Stay strong Gary!! You're in our prayers!

I hope Gary is recovering well. Lupe told me the news a few days ago. And now I just saw this thread. Anyone know how Gary is doing?
Any one heard anything? Kevin?

Shane

Best wishes to a speedy recovery.

Isn't some stroke can recover some of the nerves and regenerate it like what he posted earlier that he couldn;t use his right side more than before.

Gary at G Cue

Earlier tonight I saw Gary coming in a wheel chair with his son, Kevin. I along with many other regulars at G Cue shook his left hand. Looks like his right arm is not in the best shape any more, but mentally he looks healthy to me. I do hope he will recover fully soon.
