GC 1 wooden slate frame question

Starting to put my GC 1 together and I've noticed that the mortise and tenon joints in the wood frame that is attached to the bottoms of the slate pieces are coming apart. The middle piece appears to have never been glued but at least some of the joints at the corners of the frames were glued. Am I correct that the four corner joints on these frames should be glued and that the middle cross piece just floats? Thanks.

Thanks. I'll just put a dab of glue on the corner tenons just to keep them in one piece for simplicity.

Looks like you have a broken slate, that would be more important on repairing than the wood framing that is screwed to the bottom of the slate.

Yes, I, too, noticed the broken slate :-). I have already repaired that thanks to RKC's thread. So, moving along in my project I was wondering about the wooden frames...
