GC 3 screw question

Hello, I'm a new pool table owner who just bought a used gold crown 3. After purchasing the table, taking it apart we noticed that one of the leg screws was missing. (one screw for each corner) It's the screw that you adjust to level the table. I Think the screw is about 4" long and 3/4" wide. So I need one of these screws and the big bolt that comes with it. Where can I buy one of these? I live in syracuse NY. I looked on the net but one of the companies wanted $30 for the bolt and another $10 to ship. Anyhow thanks for replying. I love this website. John

are you talking frame to leg bolt or bolts to fabrcate the frame. only other are woodscrews to screw the slate down to the table. When I get back from the dog park I will take some picture of my gc3 its in pieces right now so we can id the bolt. Or if you can take some pictures that would make it easy also either way i'll be back in a few hrs plus there are a few other guys on here that know gold crowns that can help out.

Its a leg leveler bolt 3/4" x4" looks like 15 or 16 threads per inch maybe national fine its just threaded rod your only missing on one use a phone book to make up the difference..lol

Check at the local hardware store I think they might only go to 1/2 or 5/8" rod or check at a machine shop or metal supply. It should be a common threaded rod you may need to buy a foot pick up a couple of nuts too.

Put the nuts on cut to size then file the end smoth with a lite taper then run the nuts up and down to see if they come off and on easy then you have another leg bolt or two..

Here's a picture top is a leg leveler bolt bottom is a frame to leg bolt,,

Instead of looking for a threaded rod of the same size, just buy a hex headed bolt with matching threads, hacksaw cut the non-threaded end off, dress up the threads and install;)

Most dont carry fine threaded bolts at the hardware store that large. All though I did find Eye bolts in that thread size.

I was lucky I spend way to much time on a computer plus I like a good challange. lol

Truth is I bought a gc3 and had not put it together I know just about everything on a gc but that bolt never thought if I lost one what would I do in a pinch at a customers house . So now I think I really know everything on a gold crown it was a good test.

Every table is a test not an assemble of parts. Hope for the best and be prepered for the worst case scenerio.

Thanks,

Craig

Craig thanks so much for all your info. Greatly appreciated. I ordered the screw from fastnel should be here tomorrow. I will post some pics when I'm finished, although it will take me some time still have to finish my basement. Thanks again, John.
