Geek question for streamers

I have a laptop and a broadband usb device that is limited to 5 gigs of download before it gets so slow as to be almost unuseable. How much would I use of my download limit if I wished to view 1 hr of video stream from the Hard times 10 ball event? If this question belongs elsewhere please forgive me for posting it here......it is pool related however....sorta.

Google "bandwidth calculator" when it asks the speed put in 500kbps and it will give you a rough idea.

I'm on my phone in an airport or I would find it and tell you exactly.

I've always wondered how to download live streaming? How do you do that?

Run a screen recorder software. None of the flash download programs will work to record a live stream. The question is not about this though, just about how much bandwidth a stream uses as it's running.
