After months of patiently waiting I finally found the a GC1 that I could not pass up! The owner told me that it has been in his family since new and it shows. I was lucky enough that he kept all the documents and accessories when they originally purchased the table.
Below are photos of when I went and picked it up today and final pictures of it in my garage. I plan on stripping all the paint on the legs and aprons and staining and a couple of coats of poly. Rails and cushions are in excellent shape and it seems to have only been felted a couple of times if that.
I will be assembling the table without the plastic skirt because it will look awkward with the dark stain. I will sell the skirt and original brunswick cue rack if anyone is interested. Plans are to get someone to tigthen the pockets to 4.5" too. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated on what to look for. Oh, if anyone wants to know I picked it up for seven bones! Thanks.

Nice find for that price! Where are you located, so you might get some info about who can tighten your pockets, and who might be interested in the plastic skirt?

You've done well!

Might want to consider holding onto the skirt & the cue holder - just in case life changes directions and you sell the table at a later date - - - right now, with all the documentation, the table has excellent "prominence".

An old GC in that good of condition is getting pretty rare. Might be a shame to change those blinds, esp those plastic dust blinds.

I agree, but just in case....what are you asking for the plastic skirt & holder? I recently picked up a GC1 and would like to get it restored to original.

beautiful table...please please dont strip the paint. Its in such great original condition.

I am located in Houston, Tx. if anyone is interested. It would be nice to have a local mechanic to tighten my pockets. PM me if you want to quote me a price to tighten the pockets locally. Thank you.

I will post up some detailed photos of the items I picked up with the table. I picked up an original brush, 8 ball Balk Collender rack, Brunswick cue rack, original Centennial balls, original cue tip kit that came with the table when purchased and also three original Brunswick cues!
About the stripping the paint......I can't stand the burnet orange color of the aprons and with my plans of staining the aprons the dust shrowd will look out of place.
Any experts out there that can tell me the value of the items I listed? Rack, cue rack, cues? Thank you.

Instead of staining / refinishing, why not look into having a "wrap" made from vinyl - - I'm sure you've seen local businesses that have had their company cars turned into rolling billboards by applying these type of decal treatments. If I remember correctly, the wraps are removable, and do not damage the finish underneath.

This way, you could change the table to fit in without compromising the original.

Food for thought.

You have a Duc 996 to park beside her? That'd be the ultimate addition to your pool room...

Unfortunately I sold my beloved duck but, I am thinking about the new Panigale though! Maybe in 2013 when they have worked out any bugs. Thanks.:D

Actually, I think it's 'tangerine'. That's a dandy example of an original GC 1 and it's a shame to see it go away, but the color doesn't really go with much these days. It looks like Mosconi's personal table that recently sold. The matching cue rack will be worth a few bucks to the guys out there that have that table, but no cue rack, if you're selling it. You can sell each of the accessories individually, along with the cue rack, and probably make most or all of your of your 7 bills back. Check them out on Ebay. You don't like the dust covers? You can sell those too. They usually disappear over the years and are sought after by those refurbishing these tables. Here's a blue one, and some accessories, similar to yours. Everyone says I should sell it off piece by piece to make the most money-but I'm not.

that blue skirt looks like it would mach with tournament blue cloth.

I say the other one looks more camel so match it with camel cloth ...would look perfect.

I agree. It's is storage now, but will make a nostalgic pool enthusiast a cool home poolroom someday along with all the original accessories. Maybe me, maybe not, but I won't set it up in the pool hall for general play. I see it in my living room, with tour blue 860hr, and rails recalibrated and pockets tightened to 4.5 inches at 141 degrees by RKC himself. Or not. You see, there's also something about having the original table, in the original set-up, that the great Mizerak managed the highest per inning average runs in the 14.1 U.S. Open ever. It would be fun to tell your friends, "this is the exact table that Irving Crane was playing on when he ran 150 and out against Joe Balsis in the '66 U.S. Open." I guess I'll have to keep thinking about it.

thats sweet..

I agree. That's a nice table the way it sits. Stripping all that paint is a ton of work. Way more than the installation itself.

imho, keep the skirts too. They ALL came with em. even the rosewood and brown poo stained like mine. It doesn't look odd at all with them.

One question. Are those jacks you have the frame and slates sitting on rated to hold that much weight laterally? That's around 800 lbs.

Choot, yes the sawhorses I have them on are steel and they are rated for 1K a piece. I haven't had time to work on the table yet because of work. I have an 8 foot right now that I am using. I will be redoing my whole game room before the GC goes in place. I have plenty of time to decide if I will strip the original paint. Maybe it will grow on me. Thanks.

Awesome fine, ( steal ), I`m jealous! I help my son in law strip his gold crown and refinish, Came out nice, But I agree with others keep it original with some nice gold or camel cloth an a retro style room setup! Thats how I had my 8ft Brunswick celebrity setup , The look was awesome!

Now for the Blue table how much? Is it for sale along with the accessories?
