Gene Albrecht

Well there you go. One guys posts a disparaging remark and subsequently, around 75% of the posts following relate to that post instead of the subject matter. IMHO, the best thing to do with these situations is to simply ignore the poster and if it warrants it, report it to the Moderator. One thing trolls count on is having people acknowledge their post. Ignore it and they soon go away.

BTW, while his post may have been at least slightly rude, it is the internet and he has a right to his opinion. Regardless, any post can't ruin a thread unless the subsequent posters allow it to.

C'mon, Sean. You're not being an equal-opportunity hater. I can list 10 other guys who sell stuff and do exactly what Gene does. Gene's product is aiming and since it's not back of the ball aiming, you're being too critical. :)

You forget that Gene contributes more free time and lessons than almost ANYONE on this forum.

What always amuses me in this forum is when people continually call others haters, because they may have a different opinion. Does this really make anyone who does not agree with you a hater, I think not.

It's just a very transparent way to try and silence people who may have
opposing opinions, and seems to be used mostly by members of a so called World Famous Society. LOL

Frankly I like Genes posts and I see no reason he should be singled out and moved to some other forum.
That is unless the people in power, (not the people who think they are in power)
the real people in power decide to move all the other people doing the same thing.

Really I'm not sure where one would try to move Gene. His type of posts seem as if they would be out of place in the for sale section, imo. He is promoting his lessons no doubt, but his posts are much more than that at least to me, and if he left Az I would miss his posts, and I think it would be a loss for the whole AZ community. I'm sure there are many different views on this, that is mine.

Greed and Jealousy come to mind. Some folks can't stand the thought that another might get something they are not getting.

This place has moderators, if they are happy then no one else should have a problem with it.

I do not know Gene or anyone else here. I do not use an aiming system and I do love the game.

I thank Gene for giving his time and knowledge to the people on this forum and I hope he makes a few bucks while he is at it.

JMO of course. So there! :p

As I recall a so called World Famous Society member wrote this thread. And I waited until 3: AM this morning at Buffalo Billiards, the worlds pool hall to meet Gene. And all of the members I know have nothing but Love for gene. And his great pool game. Not to mention his great pool teaching And a Love for AZB. If everyone on this great AZB forum was like Gene, this would be a much better place to come to. I have never saw Gene say anything bad about a thread or a poster. Gene helps everybody who goes to him for help.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Really as I recall, I don't think that JoeyA is a so called world famous society member.
If JoeyA is a member 10 demerits for not having his lock name in his post. LOL

You must not have read my post because all I had to say about Gene in my post
was positive.

I never said anyone said anything non positive about Gene. I only said something because of the so called World Famous Society members, being mentioned. I did not say anything bad either.

Equal opportunity "hater," eh? Funny, coming from you -- you're not exactly an equal opportunity "supporter," either.

My points of contention with Geno (and with his side kick, JoeyA) have nothing to do with aiming, as much as you try to spin it that way. In fact, I've often said that what Geno offers fills-in a gap in pool instruction, because pool instruction in general has a history of being way too loosey-goosey (i.e. there's no sanctioned syllabus by a central authority, like there is with other cue sports, like snooker). So Gene found something that, although standard fare in the other cueing sports, is missing in pool instruction. Good on him.

Rather, my points of contention have to do with the RULES, Dave. You know, those things you have to abide by in order to be a member here? Try and offer your spin all you want about me somehow having a secret agenda against aiming systems. I think anyone would agree that my points here are related to continuous spamming of the forums.

You forget that Gene contributes more free time and lessons than almost ANYONE on this forum.

See, that's where I disagree with you. What exactly has Geno "contributed" to these forums? Sales pitches for his lessons? Absolutely. And only after he was unfortunately injured in that mobile home accident, phone lessons became free. "Feel good" moral support posts? Perhaps. Sales pitches disguised as "pool stories"? Most definitely. At *NO TIME* has Geno *EVER* offered truly instructive posts his entire existence on these forums. Nothing that a reader can read and say, "ah, new information and techniques -- let me go try that!"

Yes, I did, because although I stand by the thoughts in that post towards JoeyA's tactics and then soft-peddling of what he's doing, I'm tired. And I read/posted when I was already in a less-tolerant state, having had a rough day. So I was actually being contemplative and decided to pull it in the spirit of being fair. So what's wrong with that?

No you never said anything non positive you only implied that others were in your normal passive aggressive manner. People might except your so called society better, if you didn't act as if you were lord of the forum by going around acting as if you're bestowing your blessings on what people do or say in you're self-righteous way. Have a nice day!

Man, ain't that the truth! Every time I see someone going on about how much he's contributed I have to scratch my head and wonder what I've missed. IMO, there are many, many members here who could spot Geno the rainbow when it comes to genuine contributions to the forum vice self-serving infomercials

Don't get me wrong -- in the couple of hours we spent together a few years ago I found Geno to be very nice and have nothing against him personally, just the spam.

If you think that your whining about my style of posting is going to get you anywhere, you can forget about that.

Gene is a valuable poster on this forum. YOU guys just don't get it.

Unfortunately, I don't worship sub-forums like some of you but I've been thinking that perhaps there should be a WHINE FORUM for posters like yourself to post your whines.

Oh and by the way, YOU'RE FLAT OUT WRONG about Geno never offering "truly instructive posts" on these forums.

If you don't like the way someone posts, just put them on ignore. What's so hard about that?

Oh and by the way, if the management had the haters toeing the line they would already be long gone.

Enjoy your life. Don't sweat what someone else is doing. It's not your business and really......who needs the grief. You must really stress yourself out over this stuff. :scratchhead:

Geno is trying to grind out a living doing something that is quite difficult to do.
Most of us like his stories.
Most of us like his PERFECT AIM.
Most of us like his road stories.
Most of us like it that he posts here on this forum.
Most of us don't care if he's trying to sell PERFECT AIM or not.
Most of us want him to continue posting in this forum.
Most of us have a little compassion for someone who is trying to make a living at playing and instructing pool.
Most of us have other jobs or we have other income to support us; Gene doesn't.

Why don't you find some other top player to run off of this forum?

What was this thread about again?? Oh yeah it's a lesson in "how to" derail a thread.

I guess that's what people do when they have nothing else to add.

Gene has been following the show as of late and I am constantly amazed at his stamina. He did finish 3rd place in Tallahassee, true, but what amazed me is the fact that he was 30 yrs the senior of the top 80% of the field!! Don't know how he does it.

However he does it he's an inspiration to me.

Gene has helped me everytime I have needed it without asking for one PENNY. His help is 100 % accurate. The smartest people in the world take in everything and apply it according to their needs.

Hard to fault a guy like Gene who will call you on the phone, at your convenience, and walk you through his perfect aim for free on his dime. And entertain all the questions you have. You can like it or not but it works for him. He's been playing outrageous. I choose what I want to listen to or not and I figure if I even pick one little thing the time was well worth it. I have no problem on anyone who would stick up and mention this sort of man and give some cudos where deserved. If you have a problem with any of that the button on the top left of your keyboard says "Esc" - stands for escape; use it and go find another thread to bash. Drive on Geno and same to you Joey !!

This is a good post. When I say he contributes to AZB, for every one post he makes as far as a non-perfect-aim contribution -- he makes 20 person phone calls to strangers he doesn't even know to help them with their game --- FOR FREE. He not only answers questions relating to sighing/aiming (of course - that's his thing) but will help with all aspects of the game.

He's been providing free phone lessons for quite some time. Before people call his posts SPAM --- understand that he probably gives 10 free lessons (at LEAST) for every paid lesson. I had a business trip to MN and he met up with me and helped me and NEVER ASKED FOR A PENNY. SOME SPAMMER HE IS!

So, if he plugs his Perfect Aim here and there I think he's earned that with the in-kind time he's donated to the membership here. That seems to get lost in translation--- people count the Perfect Aim posts and don't consider the 20-fold number of private, FREE, phone lessons he gives to "whoever wants help."

Why would we chase someone like that away and call him a spammer?

HOW MANY FREE PHONE LESSONS HAS LOU FIGUEROA DONATED TO COMPLETE STRANGERS ON THIS FORUM?
