gene newport cue

nogood,

I have a Gene Newport cue that was made more than 15 years ago. It plays really nice. From what I know and remember, he used many variations of joints, ferrules, and tapers. I have a Stainless joint, phenolic ferrule, and pro taper (of more than 15 years ago). When my cue was made, the butts of cues were a bit bigger than those of todays variety. I assume that his cues changed through the years like everyone elses.

Some folks I know with other cues said that they thought that the Gene Newport cues played a little soft for them. However, depending on the variations I mention above, they may even play a little hard. I honestly think that there are other cues that play more solidly but there are far more cues out there which play less solidly.

PM me if you need further information.

Disclaimer: I Love my Newport (Gene) as it was my first cue but I still use it today.

Jerry
